The Grand Slambovians
The Grand Slambovians (AKA Gandalf Murphy & The Slambovian Circus of Dreams) have been called everything from 'hillbilly-Pink Floyd' to 'folk-pop' to 'surreal americana'. Their melodic avant-folk conjures with an exotic instrumental arsenal way beyond standard rock regalia and a palette of styles ranging from dusty Americana ballads to huge Pink Floydesque cinematic anthems.
Formed in Sleepy Hollow, New York over a decade ago, The Grand Slambovians pioneered the alt-folk circuit, staying on the fringes of the music industry. They built their career from the ground up in true DIY style, winning support from indie radio and press from the start.
The band is currently working on their fifth studio album, 'A Box of Everything' (the first to be distributed by a major, Sony Red through Red River entertainment) scheduled for release early 2014.
Headlining major music festivals and venues across the US, Canada and UK, the band has a devoted cult following that is all ages.
Led by songwriter Joziah Longo (vocals/guitar/harmonica) "Soothing and bewitching as a snake oil tonic, the entire root system of Rock Family Trees is embedded in Longo's voice." - The Big Issue, Scotland, UK, and joined by: Sharkey McEwen (guitar, mandolin); Tink Lloyd (accordion, cello, etc); and Eric Puente (drums).
Live performance is where the real magic comes down, and that is what really sets this band apart.
